Introduction of the Department :
Faculty of Education came into existence in 2004 since then the
Faculty is trying its best to produce teachers embodied with cultural
traditions of our society and also modern enough to keep pace with
changing times. The aim of the faculty is to create a pool of trained
manpower who can render their services for the disabled section of
the society and to link the disabled in the mainstreaming process.
The Faculty of Education has been fulfilling the cherished dream of
the founder of this University, His Excellency Jagadguru Swami
Rambhadracharyaji who attached himself great importance to the
teacher education and believed to be the first teacher of this
university devoting his whole life for the empowerment of the
disabled.
Motto of this university is to cater the needs to provide training
for the Divyang youths in the field of teacher education in different
types of disability specially Visually impaired, Hearing Impaired,
and orthopaedically handicapped. Deptt. Of Special education was
established under the flagship of Faculty of Education. Under the
deparment of special education two courses run by the university i.e
B.Ed.S.E (V.I) came into existence in the year 2004 and B.Ed. S.E
(H.I) in the year 2005.Both the courses are running with duly
recognised by Rehabilitation Council of India sucessfully. As per
the norms and standards of R.C.I. and U.G.C. department is enriched
with adequate infrastructural facilities as well as fully qualified
,energetic,specialized and intellectual faculty members. With all
essential instructional and practical labs as Low Vision
Centre,Audiology and speech language pathology lab, Language lab,
Curriculum resource centre, Psychology lab, ICT Lab, Smart class
rooms, Art and Craft resource centre, additional facilities of well
furnished departmental library with reference books, journals and
wifi facility, Braille press ,facility of projectors and cable
connection for Channel broadcasting services of various educational
channels are unique features of modern instructional facilities in
the field of special education. Throughout the academic session whole
faculty members are engaged in teaching of all essential theoretical
aspects as well practical aspects and skill development programmes
including field activities. The teaching and instructional method
comprises with disabled friendly approaches including lectures,group
discussions,seminars,tutorial,remedial classes etc. In every session
most of the students after qualitatively completing the courses from
this department are serving in many government and non government
enterprises in India and abroad. By keen observing the performance
and achievements of this department, the Inspection team of U.G.C.
expresses its opinion as level of excellence.

Major Objectives of the Department/Faculty/Centre:
To provide specialized training to the undergraduate disabled
students to empower themselves Special education in reference to the
hearing impaired students to be one of the best teacher-educator in
the field of education and overall strengthen the disabled students
to become Nation builder of the country.
To provide specialized knowledge to the postgraduate students and
researchers in the different area of education including special
education.
To conduct research in special education, educational technology,
curriculum development, school education, elementary education and
all the priority areas of education.
To create professionally sound human resource according to the need
of the present educational society, government, institutions, etc
